Welcome To Tiger Town

Save the children, please.

At a U2 concert in Ireland , Bono asks the audience for some quiet.  Then, in the silence, he starts to slowly clap his hands.  Holding the audience in total silence, he says into the microphone, “Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies.”   A voice from near the front of the audience pierces the silence.  “Fookin’ stop doin’ it, then.”      (Thanks Rodney)

And this cautionary tale arrived in my in-box from another one of our classmates, whom shall remain nameless.

“Can you make a hotel suggestion?  I can stay at my parents, but they live pretty far out and since we’ll be drinking, I figured we would grab a room.  No sense in taking chances.

We did that for the ten year and I ended up with a 14 year old souvenir!! “

And with that, the Reunion Committee strongly encourages you to take the following under advisement during reunion weekend:

#1 – No clapping

#2 – We’re not handing out any reunion souvenirs and you shouldn’t  be either. But if you do, see rule #1.

And one more time with feeling: This Friday, July 13, is the deadline for getting in your reunion payment. If you have mailed your payment since last Friday and not received an email confirmation of its receipt, please let me know via email; gnansenelson@yahoo.com

In a global preamble to our upcoming reunion, the entire world comes together today to celebrate all things Green! In this unprecedented show of school spirit, concerts are being held in countries far and wide with students, teachers, celebrities, musicians and politicians all rising in unison in support of the Mean Green!

Starting off in Sydney, Austrailia, then spanning the globe, the first of nine scheduled concerts is already underway. The twenty-four hour, seven continent show featuring 100 musical acts will be seen by an estimated two billion people, via the web and an NBC telecast. Another impromptu show will take place on the Mall in Washington D.C., all in celebration of Green.

The band Green Day will be featured prominently.

All this love for the Green & White Tigers! Imagine that!
